September 16 : While new information is surfacing almost every day in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, today the late actor’s former manager Shruti Modi, who appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs-related case, was sent back as one of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) members tested positive for COVID-19.
NCB, which has already arrested 18 people related to the drug case linked to the late actor’s death case, had issued summons to Shruti and talent manager Jaya Saha on Tuesday. Enforcement Directorate (ED) had retrieved chats between Rhea, Shruti, and Jaya, where they were found talking about drugs.
Meanwhile, a Times Now report claims that according to a top Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) source, Sushant did not answer calls or check WhatsApp or messages since 2.30 pm on June 13, indicating that he was off the grid since that time. This was about 22 hours before his body was found on June 14. The report also suggests that while CBI is investigating the issue, it clearly hints at some mystery. The late actor received the last call from a talent manager at 2.22 pm on June 13.
CBI team leaves for Delhi
Meanwhile, a two-member CBI team has left for Delhi today to meet the AIIMS board. The cause of Sushant’s death will be revealed by a panel of doctors from Delhi's AIIMS hospital next week. CBI has sort assistance from the AIIMS panel, which is studying the actor's autopsy report. It is reported that AIIMS sources has revealed that their opinion will be “conclusive and without any confusion or doubts, in the interest of truth and law.” The viscera reports are expected by Friday.
Rhea and Showik to file bail plea again
It is also learnt that Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik are expected to file separate bail applications today before the Bombay High Court with a plea for urgent hearing. According to a Times Now report, the NCB is likely to call Sushant’s sister and brother-in-law to record their statement as well.
