September 17 : Bhumi Pednekar had started shooting for the horror thriller Durgavati in January this year. Along with Arshad Warsi and Mahie Gill, Bhumi shot for two months continuously in Bhopal when the shoot had to be suddenly stopped in March due to the announcement of the coronavirus lockdown.
In the first leg of the shoot, the team shot at locations like Moti Mahal, Sadar Manzil, Bhopal’s Old Central Jail, Minto Hall, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, and Poha Bhata village. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Bhumi, who is currently in her village Pedne in Goa, will resume a two-day shoot on September 29 at a Mumbai Film City studio. Bhumi will complete some patchwork scenes during these two days.
Helmed by G. Ashok, Durgavati is a remake of his own 2018 Telugu film Bhaagamathie. The film marks Ashok debut in Bollywood. Bhumi will play an IAS officer, which was played by Anushka Shetty in the original film. The film is being bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikram Malhotra under T-Series, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment.
After returning from her village this week, the Bala actress will shoot for September 29 and 30. Work on the sets has already begun and after following all guidelines of the state government, the team will resume work, it is reported.
While Arshad has already wrapped up his part of the shoot and has also started dubbing, Bhumi and Jisshu Sengupta, who plays a pivotal role in the film, will shoot an important scene during the current schedule. Bhumi and Jisshu have also started dubbing for their respective tracks. Two units in Mumbai and Chennai are working remotely on the post-production as the shoot will include a lot of supernatural elements.
