September 17 : Kangana Ranaut has been grabbing the headlines since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput after she started speaking for the late actor’s justice. In the process, she got engaged in a war of words with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and several Bollywood celebs. After her recent attack on veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, the Panga actress is now responding to comments made by actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar.
In a recent interview, Urmila slammed Tanu Weds Manu actress and said that if she has information about illegal drugs in Bollywood, then Kangana should look to her state Himachal Pradesh as well. Urmila also pointed out that Kangana should have gone to the authorities rather than tweeting about it. “Which girl from a civilised cultured house would use this kind of language? Like “kya ukhaad loge”, “kiska baap ka kya hai”, and speaking about Jaya ji the way she did,” Matondkar said in the interview. Urmila also said that Kangana has been doing this to please BJP and get a ticket.
Reacting to Urmila’s comments, Kangana said in an interview that “One doesn’t have to be a genius to figure that for me it is not very difficult to get a ticket. I don’t have to play with my life or get my property ruined for it.” The actress further stated “She (Urmila) isn’t known for acting for sure and is known for doing soft porn. If she can get a ticket, why won’t I get a ticket?”
However, Kangana’s attack on Urmila did not go well with Bollywood celebs as many rallied behind the Rangeela actress and supported her. Swara Bhasker took to Twitter and wrote, “Dear @UrmilaMatondkar ji, remembering ur outstanding performances in Masoom, Chamatkaar, Rangeela...among others and have marvelled at your acting chops & brilliant dancing! Love u.”
Director Anubhav Sinha also tweeted in support of Matondkar and wrote, “Just felt like saying this to one of the most beautiful, elegant, evocative, expressive actresses ever. Sending you love.”
