September 22 : The 14-day judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested for drugs-related charges in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, ends today. Besides Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty, and many others have so far been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drug case. Rhea was arrested by the NCB on September 9 after three days of questioning by the agency.

While the NCB will reportedly ask for Showik and Dipesh Sawant’s extension of the judicial custody, it is speculated that after Rhea is presented in the court virtually today, the NCB may ask for the extension of Rhea’s judicial custody as well. This is because during her bail application, NCB had argued that if she is out of jail, she may tamper with the evidences. So it is speculated that NCB may give the same reason while asking for the extension of her judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the forensic team of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), that has been examining Sushant Singh Rajput's post-mortem report and cause of death, will meet the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team in Delhi today. After the meeting, the AIIMS team will submit its final findings to CBI along with a “conclusive” report later this week. The AIIMS team has used sophisticated equipment for the first time to analyse the samples collected from CBI earlier.

At today’s meeting, the AIIMS medical board will discuss the findings of the investigation done by the agency and the CFSL team that went to Mumbai, and will then decide on the next course of action, it is reported.

The AIIMS forensic team is headed by Dr Sudhir Gupta, who had formed the medical board and the team that visited Sushant Singh Rajput’s Bandra flat and had recreated the crime scene.
