September 25 : Director Mohit Suri is all set to roll Ek Villain sequel in January 2021. While Suri fell apart with Aditya Roy Kapur due to creative differences over the script of Ek Villain 2, his producers Bhushan Kumar and Ekta Kapoor have roped in Arjun Kapoor to replace Aditya.
The story of the film is about the confrontation between two powerful personalities being played by John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor. While John is paired opposite Disha Patani, Arjun will romance Tara Sutaria who plays a singer.
With John and Arjun coming on board, Mohit has tentatively titled the sequel as Do Villain. John plays a character with grey shades. A Mumbai Mirror report states that John is reading the script as he wants to understand his character better. He is also working with Mohit on the action scenes. The report quoted Mohit saying that he wants to take the action scenes a notch higher and John has been designing and choreographing these scenes with him and the team of assistants. These fight scenes will include hand-to-hand combats and car chases.
John will start shoot for the film after he kicks off Satyameva Jayate 2 and wraps up Mumbai Saga and Attack.
Mohit has reportedly said that John will play an intense character in the romance space like Jism. The director reportedly said that in this film the audience will see the love story of a villain, which is rarely shown in films. “John is more of an anti-hero than a villain per se,” Mohit said in the report.
The film will have a start-to-finish schedule. Mohit told Mumbai Mirror that due to the pandemic, the team is taking one step at a time. He will also shoot with fewer crews and the time spent on set will be much less than the usual time. The director will also use a lot more technology in making this film.
