Xiaomi launched several new IoT products at its Smarter Living Event 2020 Live Updates today. Some of these products include Mi Band 5 and Mi Watch Revolve besides the Mi Smart Speaker.
The Mi Smart Speaker costs Rs. 3,499 in India. It will be available for purchase on October 1 via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. The speaker can be bought offline at retail stores across the country soon.
The highlight of Mi Smart Speaker is the Google Assistant support. The smart speaker features a 12W 2.5-inch front-firing audio driver tuned with DTS sound. With a touch panel along with controls to adjust the volume level, play / pause music tracks, and mute the inbuilt microphones, it makes the speaker not only smart but also handy and usable. The 0.7 mm-thin metal mesh of the speaker has a matte finish on top, giving it a premium look and feel. The mesh design also helps in delivering good quality sound experience.
For the Mi Smart Speaker, Xiaomi has used a Hi-Fi audio processor manufactured by Texas Instrument that helps to decode audio signals accurately. The speaker also comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. The user can connect two Mi Smart Speakers together via Bluetooth and get a stereo sound experience.
The Google Assistant easily connects the Mi Smart Speaker to the Google Home app and makes it compatible with all connected devices that are supported by Google Assistant. Using the Google Home app on any smartphone, the user can create a multi-room setup. The Mi Smart Speaker also comes with two far-field microphones that help in voice controls. The smart speaker also recognises voice commands in Hindi through Google Assistant.
