October 19 : While Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi is still waiting for an appropriate release date, the filmmaker has already begun work on his next directorial venture with Ranveer Singh. The duo had worked together in Simmba, and now it is reported that the Gully Boy actor will play his first ever double role in the commercial entertainer titled Cirkus.

As stated in a report by Mid-Day, Cirkus will be Rohit’s interpretation of William Shakespeare’s popular play, The Comedy of Errors. The film, a Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment presentation, is expected to go on the floors in November at Mumbai Mehboob Studios. A big set is already under construction for the first schedule of the film, which will also feature four primary characters. It is reported that Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde will play the two female leads in the film. Varun Sharma will also join them. While Varun has also worked with Rohit in Dilwale, Jacqueline and Pooja will work with him for the first time.

The Mid-Day report also revealed that while Ranveer will be seen playing a pair of identical twins who were separated from each other, each twin has an identical attendant, portrayed by Varun Sharma. The comedy will show how the foursome cross paths, and their mistaken identities will create confusions leading to hilarious moments.

Jacqueline and Pooja will play Ranveer’s love interest. The director has also roped in several other actors from his Golmaal film for the new comedy drama. Some of them include Mukesh Tiwari, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, and veteran actor Sulbha Arya. The film will be shot in Ooty, Goa and Mumbai, and the release has been slated for winter 2021.
