October 22 : With the reopening of theatres across the country barring some cities, production houses have started announcing new release dates for their projects. Salman Khan and Disha Patani starrer film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was one of the most awaited films to be released in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the release date could not be met.
The film was earlier slated to release during Eid 2020. Now it is reported in Mid-Day that the makers of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is considering releasing the film during Eid 2021. Sources informed Mid-Day that a meeting was held on Monday, where Salman and co-producers Atul Agnihotri, Sohail Khan and Nikhil Namit were present. It has been reported that the producers were first considering the Republic Day weekend for the release of the film, but since the theatres are experiencing low footfall since their reopening, they do not want to take risk for such a big-budget film. Hence, the makers are reportedly eyeing Eid 2021 for the release date as they consider it to be the safest.
The report stated that the producers have calculated if they release the film in January 2021, when the COVID-19 situation will still exist, they will earn around Rs 120 crore. Keeping this in mind, the producers, and distributors handled by Yash Raj Films, felt that it would be wise to release the film on May 12, 2021, which will also go in line with Salman's tradition of Eid releases.
Salman, Disha, Jackie Shroff, and Randeep Hooda have recently completed their shoot schedule outside Mumbai. The film is helmed by Prabhu Deva, who believes that only Salman can bring the crowd to the theatres.
