October 26 : As a tribute to the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, the City Council of Wroclaw, Poland, has named a square after him. An elated Amitabh Bachchan shared the news on his social media.
The Bollywood veteran took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of the Wroclaw square along with a note. The picture displayed the board that has his father's name inscribed on it. "Square Harivansh Rai Bachchan Wroclaw" is also written on the board. Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “ The City Council of the City of Wroclaw, Poland, has decided to name a Square after my Father .. there could not have been a more apt blessing on Dushhera than this .. a moment of extreme pride for the family, for the Indian community in Wroclaw .. and India .. JAI HIND.”
Last year, the Mayor of Wroclaw had declared Amitabh Bachchan as the Ambassador of the City of Wroclaw. In July, the superstar had also shared a video on his social media accounts, wherein the students at the Wroclaw University were seen paying tribute to Harivansh Rai Bachchan by reciting a few lines from the renowned poem ‘Madhushala’. In a note along with the video, the veteran actor wrote, "...Today they organised a recitation of my Babuji's Madhushala by the University students on the roof of the University building. As Wroclaw was awarded the title of a UNESCO City of Literature, they could pass on the message to Babu Ji's lovers from all around the world - Wroclaw is a City of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan... "

On the work front, Sr Bachchan is currently seen hosting the popular quiz show on television, "Kaun Banega Crorepati 12". He will soon be seen in Ayan Mukerji's fantasy adventure Brahmastra, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. He will also be seen in Nagraj Manjule's sports drama Jhund; Rumi Jaffery’ psychological suspense drama Chehre co-starring Emraan Hashmi, and Nag Ashwin's untitled multilingual project with Deepika Padukone and Prabhas.
