October 27 : Rajkummar Rao’s hands are full post lockdown. While the actor is gearing up to entertain with his upcoming films Chhalaang and Ludo, he has recently resumed work on other projects and is giving his nods to new projects as well.
The Bareilly Ki Barfi actor is now all set to start shoot on a new comedy film with Kriti Sanon, which will go on the floors on October 30. Helmed by Abhishek Jain and bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan, the film will commence shooting in Chandigarh. It also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Paresh Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah. Raj and Kriti will play orphans, who decide to adopt parents. Rajkummar will reach Chandigarh today for a marathon schedule till the end of the year.
Next, Rajkummar will kick off Harshavardhan Kulkarni’s film Badhaai Do with Bhumi Pednekar in 2021. The film is a sequel to Ayushmann Khurrana starrer hit film Badhaai Ho. Recently Rajkummar took to his social media and announced the film, where he will be seen as a cop opposite Bhumi Pednekar, who plays a PT teacher.
A Mumbai Mirror report has suggested that the Stree actor will step into Dharmendra’s shoes in the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 comedy film Chupke Chupke. While the makers are finalising the script, they are also in talks with other actors for the role of Sukumar, the English professor, played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. Mumbai Mirror has quoted a source who stated that the cast will be finalised by December, and the film will go on the floors in March 2021.
Rajkummar has also completed shoot for the horror film Roohi Afzana with Janhvi Kapoor, and is awaiting its release. Apart from this, Rao will be seen in Chhalaang with Nushrratt Bharuccha and Zeeshan Ayyub, which will release on November 13 on Amazon Prime Video. His film Ludo will release on Netflix this Diwali.
