October 27 : Priyanka Chopra Jonas is over the moon as she celebrates 20 years of being crowned Miss World in 2000. Reminiscing the most amazing moments of her life, the global icon shared a video on social media, remembering how much she cherished the moments two decades back.
The Sky is Pink actress also remembered the first thing her mom told her after she was crowned Miss World at the age of 18. Today, the diva shared a video on social media in which her mother Madhu Chopra and younger brother Siddharth Chopra also spoke about how they reacted to her historic victory.
The video starts showing the moment when Priyanka’s name was declared as the winner of Miss World. Priyanka was seen hugging the runners up in joy, which was followed by the moment when she was crowned.
The video then showed PeeCee’s mom Madhu Chopra in the present time, who recalled the big victory with excitement. When Priyanka asked her mother if she remembers the crowning moment, Madhu Chopra recalled that as soon as the diva’s name was announced, all the Indians present at the ceremony stood up in excitement.
Madhu Chopra also revealed that when she hugged Priyanka after she was crowned, she said the most ‘stupidest’ thing. While tears streamed down her eyes, she hugged her daughter and instead of congratulating her and telling her how glad she was, she said, “Babe, now what will happen to your studies?”
Sharing the video, the actress wrote in the caption, “Miss World, 2000 Picture this... I just turned 18 and won Miss World!! When I finally reunited with my parents among all the chaos on stage, the first thing my mom said to me was “babe, what’s going to happen with your studies?” #IndianMom #20in202
Recalling the moment, Priyanka’s younger brother Siddharth Chopra said on a video call with her, “I was only 11-12 years at that time. But I had mixed feelings. I was happy that she won but the very next moment I learned that I would be going to the US for further studies instead of her.”
