October 28 : Expanding its product portfolio in India, the South Korean tech giant LG launched LG Velvet in India today. LG bounced back in the smartphone market in India with the LG G8X ThinQ during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale recently.


The price of the LG Velvet in India starts at Rs. 36,990, while the LG Velvet Dual Screen combo carries a price tag of Rs. 49,990. The smartphone, which comes in Aurora Silver and New Black colour options, will go on sale on October 30 across all leading online and offline retailers.


LG Velvet flaunts a 6.8-inch POLED 1080p screen, and a pixel density of 395 PPI. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the phone sports the Adreno 630 GPU for graphics. However, the global version of the handset comes with Snapdragon 765G SoC.

The handset runs Android 10 with the LG UX 9 on top. The phone packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. LG Velvet also comes with the MIL-STD-810G certification for durability. It also features an under-display fingerprint sensor.

With a triple camera setup at the back, the LG Velvet includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with 79-degree field of view. Its 8-megapixel secondary sensor has 120-degree field of view; and the 5-megapixel depth sensor has an 81-degree field of view. For selfies and video chat, the handset has a 16-megapixel camera sensor at the front, teamed with an f/1.9 lens that has as 81-degree field of view. The phone packs a 4,300mAh battery on board with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support.
