October 30 : Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Abhishek Bachchan was quite busy this year. After his crime drama thriller Breathe: Into the Shadows was released in July, the actor’s next film Ludo will release on Netflix on November 12, coinciding with Diwali.
The Manmarziyaan actor’s performance in Breathe: Into the Shadows was quite liked by the critics as well as the viewers, while the actor garnered rave reviews. In his forthcoming film Ludo, the actor plays the role of Bittu, a character who has “hard exterior with a soft heart”. According to Abhishek, the character was a challenge to portray but was equally satisfying. Written and directed by Anurag Basu, Ludo, is an anthology dark comedy which also stars Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, in lead roles.
In the film, Abhishek’s character will kidnap a little girl played by Inayat Verma, but he will establish a strong bond with her. We will get to see a beautiful relationship between Inayat and Bittu, who will do anything to protect her. Their relationship is charming as well as hilarious. From the trailer, it is certain that Abhishek and Inayat will win over our hearts.
Speaking to Mid-Day, director Anurag Basu said, “Abhishek and Inayat bonded from the first day of the shoot. Abhishek is an incredible human being and loves children. He always ensured Inayat's comfort. Inayat is also a very warm and friendly child, along with being an incredibly talented actor. I was surprised to see them bonding so well and that helped me in capturing all the beautiful moments between them.”
Anurag said that Abhishek treated Inayat as his own daughter on the sets, and always ensured that she was comfortable on the set. Their bond lighted up the mood of everybody on the set, the director added.
Ludo will unfold the story of different journeys of different characters who meet at an intersection. The journeys are a rollercoaster ride and are thrilling.
