November 19 : After attending her brother Aksht’s traditional wedding in her hometown Manali, Kangana Ranaut has jetted off to Hyderabad to resume the last leg of shooting for her film Thalaivi today.
Talking to Mid-Day, producer Shailesh R Singh confirmed that the shoot will continue till December 10, when Kangana will wrap up the film. During this schedule, the climax sequence along with some other portions of the film will be shot. The crew will also film a crowd sequence with Kangana.
Thalaivi is a multilingual biographical film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R. Singh. The film is based on the life of late politician and film actress J. Jayalalithaa, who served six terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Kangana plays the role of Jayalalithaa. Thalaivi has been written by Baahubali fame writer K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and The Dirty Picture fame writer Rajat Arora. The shooting of the film was stopped as the nationwide lockdown began in March due to coronavirus pandemic. The movie was slated to hit the cinemas on June 26, 2020, but now a new date will be decided.
The makers of the film is now hoping to release the film in theatres before March 31. “By December, we will have a date,” Shailesh R. Singh told the portal.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana will also be seen in Tejas, where she plays the role of an Indian Air Force pilot. The film, directed by Sarvesh Mewara, is set to go on floors next month. Tejas is being produced by the makers of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike.
