December 01 : Janhvi Kapoor, who was last seen in the Netflix film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl this year, will reportedly kickstart shooting for an Aanand L Rai-produced film from January 9, 2021. The actress will jet off to Punjab for the shooting.
The Dhadak girl has bagged the remake of the 2018 Tamil hit film, Kolamavu Kokila, which was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, an ETimes report stated. The untitled Hindi version of Kolamavu Kokila will be helmed by Siddharth Sengupta, who had been the assistant director in films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Agneepath and others. He has also co-directed a short series titled The Great Escape. Janhvi will play the role, which was essayed by Nayanthara in the original.
The report further suggested that the crime thriller will go the floors with a start-to-finish schedule. While the shooting will start off in Punjab, Janhvi and the rest of the team will travel to different locations in the state for the film.
Meanwhile, the actress, who is awaiting the release of her movies Dostana 2 and Roohi Afzana, has reportedly signed the Hindi remake of a hit Malayalam film Helen. The survival thriller will be bankrolled by Zee Studios and co-produced by Janhvi's father Boney Kapoor. The film will be directed by Mathukutty Xavier, who had directed the original film. Veteran actor Manoj Pahwa, who was last seen in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, will play Janhvi Kapoor's father in the film.
