January 11 : Vicky Kaushal felt ecstatic as he unveiled the first look of his upcoming film The Immortal Ashwatthama on the occasion of the second anniversary of his film URI: The Surgical Strike. The film that marked Aditya Dhar’s directorial debut and bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala, was released in 2018.

As Uri turned two years today, Vicky released the first look of the sci-fi The Immortal Ashwatthama and wrote, “On the 2nd anniversary of ‘URI-The Surgical Strike’, the team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team of @adityadharfilms #RonnieScrewvala @rsvpmovies @soniyeah22”

The Immortal Ashwatthama is a futuristic sci-fi movie, which is based on the Mahabharata character Ashwatthama, who played a crucial role in the war between Pandavas and Kauravas. The first look of the film looks promising as the poster features a superhero standing tall against a backdrop that featured a massive image of Lord Shiva. The poster also displayed a futuristic setting with multiple skyscrapers in the background and the superhero can be seen holding a lightning sword.

The Immortal Ashwatthama has always been touted as Aditya Dhar’s dream project. Vicky, who will play the lead, will collaborate with Aditya and Ronnie for the second time after Uri. Vicky is “overwhelmed and ecstatic” to join the team once again. He just can’t wait to start the journey soon. The Raazi actor will be seen in this space for the first time as he will explore the newest form of technology alongside acting. “Overwhelmed and ecstatic!” he wrote as he shared another poster from the film.

Aditya’s team is working hard to create a visual spectacle for the film Ashwatthama. “I am taking this film as a responsibility of telling this epic story, in the way it is meant to be told, and I hope, audiences shower the same love to Ashwatthama, as they did to URI,” Aditya said in a statement. The Immortal Ashwatthama will roll this year.

RSVP Movies also shared the poster and wrote, “Raising the bar higher for the superhero genre not only in India but across the world, this film is a high-concept visual spectacle in the making. From the team that brought to you URI The Surgical Strike, presenting @vickykaushal09 in and as #TheImmortalAshwatthama.”
