January 15 : Vicky Kaushal, who was a part of the film Uri: The Surgical Strike, based on the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack, remembered the hardship and sacrifices of the heros in uniform on the occasion of the 73rd Army Day today.
Vicky, who will also play the titular role in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming movie, a biopic on India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, took to his Instagram handle a little while ago and shared a video clip, wherein the actor is seen taking training from the Army jawans. Sharing a note, the actor remembered the jawans who guard the borders at the altitude of 16,000 ft at the Indo-China border of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, and other such high altitudes and showed his gratitude towards their selfless services and sacrifices. “Remember being at alt. of 16,000ft at the Indo-China border of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. A member of my team was rushed to a lower altitude since he was finding it difficult to even breathe. That’s where our Indian Army was holding their grounds with all their might in order to protect us. My salute to our bravest men who believe in “Service before Self. #ArmyDay”
Vicky plays first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming biopic Sam, which has been written by Bhavani Iyer.

While Akshay Kumar flagged off a marathon of Army men and played a game of volleyball with the soldiers, actors like Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul Preet Singh, Disha Patani, and others extended their gratitude to the men in uniform.
On the work front, the Raazi actor recently unveiled the first look of his film The Immortal Ashwatthama, where he will reunite with his Uri director Aditya Dhar. The film is futuristic science fiction, based on a powerful character from the epic Mahabharata.
