January 21 : Among the young prominent actors of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor chooses to stay away from social media and hence away from his fans. Despite his low key presence in social media and less appearances on public platforms, the Sanju actor enjoys immense fan base and popularity.
With his debut in Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Savaria in 2007, Ranbir made it clear that he is here to stay. Over the years, the actor has proved his mettle by giving blockbuster movies one after the another like Wake up Sid, Rockstar, Barfi!, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Sanju and more. However, after his blockbuster film Sanju in 2018, fans are patiently waiting for his next film Brahmastra, which kept on postponing from its expected release in 2018.
Ranbir Kapoor may make a comeback with Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera. The period drama is set in the 1800s and is backed by Yash Raj Films. The action drama film is about a dacoit tribe, who fought for their rights and Independence against the British. While Ranbir plays a double role, Vaani Kapoor essays the role of a dancer and Sanjay Dutt portrays the antagonist. While filming was completed in January 2020, shoot resumed in August 2020 to complete some patchwork. The film is expected to release in 2021.
Ranbir has recently wrapped a schedule of Ayan Mukherjee’s much-anticipated film Brahmstra. In the first part of the trilogy, Ranbir will share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Bankrolled by Karan Johar, the film is expected to be released in 2021. Ranbir will shoot for the final schedule of Brahmastra and will wrap up before January 31. Reportedly, Brahmastra is the biggest-ever movie made in the country. The staggering budget of the film is reportedly more than INR 300 crore.
Luv Ranjan's next
Ranbir is currently shooting in Delhi for Luv Ranjan's next with Shraddha Kapoor. Initially, the film was to be shot in Spain but due to COVID-19 pandemic, the shoot location was changed to Delhi NCR. The film also stars Boney Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. While Boney plays a full-fledged role in the romantic drama, as Ranbir’s father, Dimple plays his mother. Ranbir and Shraddha kickstarted the shoot on January 6, and the first schedule will complete on January 14. The actor is expected to wrap the film by May 2021.
Ranbir to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s crime drama film Animal, and will share screen space with Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Parineeti Chopra. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, best-known for directing projects like Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy, has teamed up with producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani for the film. Ranbir will start shoot for the film once he wraps Luv Ranjan's untitled film.
