February 08 : Parineeti Chopra is aware that she will be compared to Hollywood star Emily Blunt, into whose shoes she has stepped in for the Hindi remake of The Girl On The Train. The actress, who has approached the film without any baggage, dropped a video of a song from the film today.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the Hasee Toh Phasee actress posted the video of the song Chhal Gaya Chhalaa sung by Sukhwinder Singh, and shared a long note with it. “I think I did this film as actor, for this song.. Keeping tears in my eyes for 2 days, I needed a day off after this shoot. I was exhausted but happy. Thankyou Ribhu, for letting me capture this on camera once in my life.”
The 2016 original film was based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Paula Hawkins. It revolved around Rachel, an alcoholic divorcee, who gets entangled in the investigation of a missing woman. Parineeti took up the challenge to play the lead in the Hindi version of the thriller, and focused only on giving her best performance.
Written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, The Girl on the Train stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead along with Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, and Avinash Tiwary. It is based on Paula Hawkins’ novel of the same name. The original film was released in 2016. Parineeti plays an alcoholic divorcee, who gets entangled in the investigation of a missing woman. Parineeti said that she took up the film as a challenge and focused on delivering her best performance. The film is slated to release on an OTT platform on February 26. The movie also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Kirti Kulhari in key roles.
Besides The Girl on the Train, Parineeti she will also be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, where she will share screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. Chopra also has Saina Nehwal's biopic in her kitty, which is directed by Amol Gupta. The actress will play the role of the ace badminton player in the flick.
