February 20 : With filmmakers rushing to block the best release slots in 2021, promising films are sure to clash at the box office. With all best dates having been already booked by filmmakers, it is obvious that films’ release dates will overlap as too many films are there to be released this year, including many that have been pushed from 2020 to 2021.

Prithviraj vs Jersey

With Yash Raj Films announcing the dates of several films releasing in 2021, it has been realised that Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer period drama Prithviraj will clash with Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey on Diwali this year as both will release on November 5. Both the films are equally powerful and are expecting to receive good response. Trade analysts believe that there will be tough competition between the movies at the box office. Both the films are expected to do well as the lead actors of both of the films have huge fan following. While Prithviraj is a historical action drama, based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, Jersey is about a talented but failed cricketer who decides to return to cricket in his mid-30s.

Both John and Salman are known for their action movies. While Satyameva Jayate 2 has the patriotic touch to it, Radhe will be flocked by Salman’s loyal fans. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the day on Eid. Helmed by Milap Zaveri, Satyameva Jayate 2 is the sequel to the 2018 film, Satyameva Jayate. Radhe, on the other hand, is directed by Prabhu Deva.

RRR vs Maidaan

SS Rajamouli’s RRR is one of the most awaited films which is set to release during Dussehra. Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan along with Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles, the film will clash at the box office with Ajay Devgn's another film Maidaan. While RRR will release on October 13, Maidaan will hit the theatres on October 15. However, since it’s the Dussehra weekend, one will be affected by the other. However, the films belong to different genre and cater to different sets of audience. But both the films are expected to have a tough fight. After the success of Bahubali, fans are looking forward to RRR. On the other hand, Maidaan has the patriotism and sports factors to it which attract huge audience base.

After SS Rajamouli announced that RRR would be released on the Dussehra weekend, Maidaan producer Boney Kapoor called the move “unethical” as he had already announced the release date for his film. However, Rajamouli refused to budge.
