Bengaluru, Feb 26 : For the second consecutive day, recoveries (642) were higher than new Covid cases (571) in a day across Karnataka, said the state health bulletin on Friday.
"With 642 patients discharged in the day, recoveries rose to 9,32,367, while 571 new cases registered on Thursday increased the state's Covid tally to 9,50,207, including 5,501 active cases," said the daily bulletin here.
Four patients, including three in Bengaluru and one in Hassan succumbed to the virus during the day, taking the state's death toll to 12,320 till date.
In Bengaluru, 368 fresh cases were reported on Thursday, taking the city's Covid tally to 4,04,996, including 3,754 active cases, while recoveries rose to 3,96,772, with 498 patients discharged in the last 24 hours.
Of the 121 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs), 56 are in Bengaluru hospitals, nine in Kalaburagi and the rest are spread in the remaining 29 districts across the southern state.
Out of 76,799 tests conducted earlier in the day, 4,556 were through rapid-antigen detection and 72,243 through RT-PCR method.
Positivity rate for the day was 0.74 per cent and case fatality rate was 0.70 per cent across the state on Thursday.
Meanwhile, 21,888 healthcare workers and frontline warriors took the vaccine in the state, accounting for 26 per cent of the 83,166 registered beneficiaries.
Cumulatively, 8,12,769 workers and warriors received the jab across the state, accounting for 80 per cent of the 10,19,386 registered beneficiaries.
