March 07 : Netflix India’s announcement of its complete slate for the year 2021 includes a number of web series which are returning with their second or third seasons after the super success of their first instalments. The streaming giant has renewed seven Indian series, including Kota Factory, the crime drama Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega, young adult romance Mismatched, comedy drama Masaba Masaba and Little Things, Imtiaz Ali's crime drama She, and the most popular International Emmy winner show Delhi Crime. Viewers are looking forward to these new seasons that look impressive and will surely be as intense as their first instalments.
Delhi Crime 2
Season 2 of the much-awaited show Delhi Crime will be directed by the National award winning director Rajesh Mapuskar of Ferrari ki Sawaari and Ventilator fame. Delhi Crime marks his debut in the digital space with this Netflix's crime drama series. The first season was written and directed by Richie Mehta, and starred Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailing. Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, will also be seen in the second season of this crime series.
Masaba Masaba 2
The first season of this entertaining series received positive reviews in 2020. The show marked the celebrity fashion designer Masaba Gupta’s venture into the digital medium. Masaba had shared screen space with her real-life mom Neena Gupta. Both the mother daughter duo will also be seen in the second season of this promising show. It will be interesting to see what is in store for the viewers in the new season.
The dark crime thriller She is coming with a new season on Netflix soon. Talking about the show at the recent Netflix event, writer Imtiaz Ali said that She was with him for a long time, and he even tried making it into a film, but due to its format, it didn’t materialise. Imtiaz further said that there are many layers in the show which suited for a longer format like web series.
Kota Factory 2
Kota Factory season 2 will also revolve around students who prepare for competitive exams in the coaching city of India, Kota. The new season will continue with the story of the vulnerable teenager Vaibhav, who decides to leave behind Jeetu Bhaiya, his modern-day Dronacharya, his friends, and his love interest for a better future. Mayur More, Jitendra Kumar, Alam Khan, Ahsaas Channa, Urvi Singh, Ranjan Raj, and Revathi Pillai will be seen in the new season. Helmed by Raghav Subbu, it is penned by Saurabh Khanna, Abhishek Yadav, Puneet Batra, and Manoj Kalwani.
Jamtara season 2 will star Sparsh Shrivastava, Monika Panwar, Anshumaan Pushkar, Amit Sial, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Aksha Pardhasany, and others. Padhi returns as the director of the new season, so does writer Trishant Srivastava alongside Kanishka Singh Deo and Ashwin Varman. Jamtara is backed by Viacom18 Studio's Tipping Point and Click on RM. In the new season, Sunny and Gudiya will get an opportunity to avenge their past.
Mismatched season 2 will bring the genius coder Dimple and romantic Rishi face to face again. As their futures are at stake, Dimple and Rishi will experience new love interests, broken promises, academic stress, shocking rivalries, and much more. The second season of Mismatched will star Taaruk Raina, Devyani Shorey, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Rannvijay Singha, and Vidya Malavade. Akarsh Khurana returns as the director, while Gazal Dhaliwal, Aarsh Vora, Nandini Gupta, Akshay Jhunjhunwala, and Sunayana Kumari are the writers. Mismatched is a production of Ronnie Screwvala.
