April 17 : Sonu Sood, who works actively to provide relief to the needy during the coronavirus pandemic, has tested positive with the virus. He took to social media today and shared the update with his fans and followers.
Sonu shared a note in Hindi and English on social media, and informed that he is currently under home quarantine. His note read as, “Hello friends, I would like to inform you that my test for COVID-19 has come positive. So I’ve quarantined myself. Nothing to worry about, on the contrary, I will now have more time to fix your difficulties than ever before. Remember, any trouble. I’m always with you.”
As soon as the actor dropped the post, his fans started pouring in good wishes. One fan wrote, “Get well soon v@SonuSood, u r really doing something which showcase that humanity is still alive, lots n lots of prayers r already with u, just take care of urself as our country needs u more. May God keep u blessed, Respect, love n prayers for you.” Another wrote, “God bless you sir. Hope u will be ok & jaldi se thik ho jao sir bhut sara kam abhi bhi baki h (a lot needs to be done).”
The actor was recently made the brand ambassador for Punjab's anti-coronavirus vaccination programme.
On Friday evening, the actor expressed his helplessness over not being able to help people who are in need. Sonu also shared his concern over the severity of the pandemic situation in the country and urged the people to stay at home, wear masks, and prevent themselves from the virus. In a tweet, he wrote, “Since morning I haven't kept my phone down, thousands of calls from all over India for HOSPITAL BEDS, MEDICINES, INJECTIONS and still not able to provide to many of them, I feel so helpless. The situation is scary, pls stay at home ,wear mask and prevent yourself from infection.”
Last year, the Dabangg actor worked relentlessly during the pandemic to help people who were migrating to their hometowns. He arranged for their transport and medicines.
