April 21 : Taapsee Pannu has been quite vocal on Twitter about different issues. Often she replies to trolls and shuts them off. Time and again, she was also found to react strongly to actor Kangana Ranaut’s comments. However, the Thappad actress finds Twitter to be one of the most toxic platforms of social media.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Taapsee shared that despite Twitter being a “toxic” platform she wanted to stay on because she found that during the current COVID-19 pandemic the netizens came out in helping each other online during the difficult times. She wrote in her latest tweet, “There was something in me that made me stay here inspite of being one of the most toxic platforms of social media. Seeing the timeline filled with support being asked and selfless/agenda free help being offered makes me believe in the power of intuition once again. Beautiful.”
Taapsee often voiced her opinions on different issues on Twitter. Many a times she has also been trolled for expressing her views on social media. In an interview, Taapsee had said that that trolls do affect her but it’s a part of the entertainment industry so she has learnt to live with it. However, her family gets upset as they are not used to it. She reiterated that she will not stop expressing her views. However, she said that she never loses dignity in replying to trolls or commenting on a social issue.
While Taapsee praised the netizens for helping each other amid the grave current situation, several Bollywood celebs are taking to social media to spread awareness about the importance of wearing masks and keeping social distancing. Priyanka Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Aparshakti Khurrana and many others used social media to reach out to people and spread awareness.
Meanwhile, before Mumbai went into lockdown, Taapsee was shooting for her upcoming sports film, Shabaash Mithu. She plays Indian cricketer Mithali Raj in the biopic. Taapsee has also completed filming Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket, and Looop Lapeta
