May 12 : Amitabh Bachchan takes every opportunity to encourage people, and amidst the current grave situation owning to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the megastar shared a message on 'hope' and encouraged everyone to stand together and fight the deadly virus.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Big B shared a video reciting a poem on hope. The super star explained how with hope and unity the pandemic can be defeated. "Hope is not a strategy. The author meant to express the notion that actions are more than words. Yes, there is certain unassembled reasoning but, as many pithy saints say, hope is not a start -- is often overused and we miss the very point of hope. Yes, hope alone is not a strategy, but when hope guides our actions, great things are possible," Amitabh Bachchan said in his video. 

Big B continued with his message as he said, "Every day we all hear amazing human stories of people coming together to help each other. Every day we discover all evidence of the indomitable human spirit, the selfless actions of our frontline workers and covid warriors and every day the darkness turns to light because people chose to come together and stand together."

"Our history is a testament to the fact that every time we have come together as a people, we have achieved the impossible. Today the challenge before us is a lot but it will always fall short of our collective resolve to win it. So I am saying to you that hope is not the strategy but sometimes it is the only strategy," the Gulabo Sitabo actor  said. Sharing the video, Senior Bachchan wrote as the caption, “WE FIGHT .. come together .. WE WILL WIN !!" 

Taking to his blog, Amitabh Bachchan said that he has contributed to several initiatives towards COVID-19 relief work, and has contributed about ₹15 crore personally. Recently, Bachchan contributed ₹2 crore towards a COVID facility in New Delhi. The superstar wrote that it is embarrassing to reveal the donations made by him. “Yes I do charity, but have ever believed it to be done, than spoken of.. it is embarrassing, is too great a self consciousness...,” the megastar wrote in his blog.
