May 12 : With the second wave of the COVID-19 crisis devastating the country, cinema halls are shut and will not open anytime soon. In such a scenario, digital platforms are doing well in entertaining people at the comfort of their homes. Many Bollywood actors are exploring the new platform and doing movies exclusive for digital spaces as well as web series.
Aditya Roy Kapur, who made his digital debut last year with Anurag Basu's Ludo, has reportedly signed another web project. The Malang actor has signed a contract with Netflix for an action project. The project is currently being scripting and will reportedly go on floors later this year. The upcoming project with the streaming giant will mark the actor’s full-fledged show on the digital platform.
Meanwhile, Aditya will be next seen in Om: The Battle Within. Helmed by Kapil Verma, the action thriller also stars Sanjana Sanghi in the lead role. The film is being jointly produced by Ahmed Khan, Shaira Khan and ZEE Studios. While the film was slated to hit the theatres in the summer of 2021, due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the makers failed to complete production work, and hence, the release of the film is expected to to be postponed.
Aditya has also signed another action-packed film, the Hindi remake of Thadam. While the actor plays the lead in the film, he will be seen in a double role. It will mark the Aashiqui 2 actor’s first double role ever. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. Murad Khetani, the producer of Kabir Singh, will back the film. The film was supposed to star Sidharth Malhotra in the lead but Sidharth politely opted out of the film as he didn’t like the new screenplay.
After the success of Malang, Aditya was reportedly flooded with offers and the actor was busy reading several scripts. However, the actor is taking time to choose the scripts as he wants to challenge himself with different and diverse roles.
