May 18 : Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog and updated his fans about his COVID relief contributions. The megastar said that his “means are extremely limited” although it doesn’t seem so. Big B, who is not comfortable asking for contributions and donations, revealed that he has already delivered the first 10 ventilators to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai.

"I give wherever I can .. my means are extremely limited .. it may not seem so , but they are .. somehow by the grace of the Almighty they come to me .. I have not made any effort to collect them through campaigns or donations to a cause that I may have instituted,” Senior Bachchan wrote.

The megastar had earlier wrote in his blog that he has donated the first 50 oxygen concentrators that he had ordered from Poland to the COVID-19 centre at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, New Delhi. Amitabh Bachchan has ordered an additional 50 oxygen concentrators for Mumbai.

The Brahmastra star said that he gave details of his contributions not to “seek praise,  but just to assure all, of the delivery and the visuals of where the funds have been used and to what avail .. that they are not just blank promises," Big B wrote.

The superstar further wrote, “There is always a sense of satisfaction on seeing your efforts at giving to the needy .. to those in distress .. to them that have lost their jobs due to the non functional-ability of their work professions .. those on the daily wages .. those who’s production films have been stopped because no shootings are allowed .. those who had bet their last Rupee on the completion of a film or a web series they were working on and getting paid."

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan received his second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Sharing a picture on social media from the vaccination centre, Big B revealed the news. In the picture, the 78-year-old actor can be seen taking the second dose of the COVOD-19 vaccine. Sharing the picture, the actor wrote a quirky caption, referring to the cricket term "Doosra", which is a type of delivery by an off-spin bowler in the game. "Doosra bhi ho gaya. COVID wala, Cricket wala nahin ("Doosra" happened, COVID one, not the Cricket one), sorry sorry that was a really bad one...""Doosra bhi ho gaya.
