May 18 : Amidst the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra and some other parts of the country such as Goa, Kerala, Karnataka and the union territories of Lakshadweep, Daman, and Diu were severely hit by the cyclonic storm, Tauktae, that made its landfall in Gujarat. These states faced severe damages on May 17. 

Several Bollywood celebrities have made efforts to warn people through their social media accounts about the cyclone. Many took to their social media handles and shared views of the aftermath of the cyclone. 

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s new home in Pali Hill, Bandra, which is currently under construction, faced disruption after a tree fell outside the complex. Amitabh Bachchan also revealed that his office Janak has been flooded after the rains lashed in Mumbai.

Shruti Haasan shared a video on her Instagram stories and talked about her experience about the ordeal of the heavy cyclonic rains and the strong winds of Cyclone Tauktae. “The storm is never-ending. My windows may fly off. It's very scary. Thank God this didn't happen the last lockdown when I was alone,” Shruti said.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Karan Kundrra shared a video on his Instagram stories to showcase the damage done to the sets of the TV serial that was shifted to Silvassa, a small town on the coastline of Gujarat. In the video, the crew members can be seen trying to save whatever they can while they run helter-shelter as the heavy rains and storms lashed the outdoor sets.
