June 15 : Bollywood is slowly and steadily returning to normalcy as the Maharashtra government has relaxed lockdown restrictions and allowed film shoots to take place. Amid a still critical situation, filmmakers and actors are resuming shoot. The state government has allowed shootings to resume in a bubble. Reportedly Aamir Khan is also resuming shoot today.
Aamir Khan will resume shooting of his ambitious project, Laal Singh Chaddha, in Mumbai from today. Only a small portion of the film is left. Earlier, in January this year, the leading lady of the film, Kareena Kapoor had wrapped up her portions of the film.
Helmed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is a comedy-drama produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, which is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Naga Chaitanya.
Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations including Chandigarh and Delhi.
Aamir has decided that despite the strict restrictions, some portions of the film can be filmed. The filmmaker has decided to go ahead with a small tram and under all precautions.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan played live chess with chess wizard Vishwanathan Anand on Sunday. During the conversation, Aamir revealed that we will resume Laal Singh Chaddha shoot from today. He also revealed that since he was preparing for the shoot, he didn’t get the time to practice chess for the session.
Meanwhile, Maharaja, starring Aamir Khan’s son Junaid and produced by Yash Raj Films, has already resumed shoot. Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan will also resume shoot soon. However, many filmmakers are still hesitatant to resume work amidst the pandemic.
Laal Singh Chaddha will also be shot in Ladakh. Before the second wave of the pandemic, Aamir visited Ladakh for recce. Reportedly, a war sequence will be shot in Ladakh.
