June 16 : Despite the lockdown has been lifted in many states, and movie theatres are open, filmmakers are still not ready to take the risk by releasing their projects in theatres. In a semi-normal situation, films are still taking the OTT route, and now it is time for Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofaan to take the same route.
Earlier, it was reported that Toofaan will have a direct-to-digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 21. But the release date was postponed owning to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Today, Amazon Prime Video announced that the film will start streaming on July 16.
The sports drama starring Farhan Akhtar is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Excel Entertainment of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and ROMP Pictures of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film will be streaming in India as well as across 240+ countries worldwide.
