June 18 : Alia Bhatt has started preparing for her forthcoming film Darlings. Sharing a post on her Instagram stories, the Gully Boy actress revealed it to her fans.

The Kalank actress shared a picture of the script of Darlings along with some coloured marker strips and a cup of coffee, and captioned it, “Prep”, indicating that she has started preparing for Shah Rukh Khan’s production. The film also stars Shefali Shah. Darlings traces the story of a mother-daughter duo, who find courage and love in exceptional circumstances. The film is set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a conservative neighbourhood.

Alia Bhatt starts prepping for Shah Rukh Khan’s production Darlings

Touted as a dark comedy, Darlings will mark Alia’s foray into film production and directorial debut of writer Jasmeet K Reen. Darlings also stars Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The Student of the Year actress had recently started her own production house titled Eternal Sunshine Productions. In March this year, Alia announced her production debut with Darlings. In her post, the actress wrote: "This one's special! Announcing #Darlings, my first ever production under Eternal Sunshine Productions, in association with my fav Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment." Alia also took to social media to reveal the logo of her production company and wrote: "And I am so happy to announce....PRODUCTION!! Eternal Sunshine Productions. Let us tell you tales. Happy tales. Warm and fuzzy tales. Real tales. Timeless tales."

Recently, Alia was seen in pictures from her grandfather's (Soni Razdan's father) 93rd birthday party, which was also joined by her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his family including mom Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Glimpses of the party was shared on Instagram by Riddhima. 

Meanwhile, Alia has resumed shootings for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, and will soon start shoot for S S Rajamouli’s RRR in Hyderabad. She will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy.
