July 25 : After Shilpa Shetty's businessman husband Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 in a pornography-related case, and is currently in police custody, Mumbai police is investigating several aspects. Raj Kundra is accused of running the pornographic app Hotshots through his company Viaan Industries. Shilpa Shetty was also a director of the company, from where she had earlier resigned.
On Saturday, during an interrogation of an employee of Raj Kundra's Viaan Industries, police discovered a locker which was concealed into the wall of Kundra's office. After a raid, police found the locker and some boxes inside it, which reportedly contained files related to financial exchanges and cryptocurrency.
The investigating team reportedly told a news channel that Raj Kundra was trying to get into an international deal by selling 121 erotic videos at USD 1.2 million.
Mumbai Crime Branch sources reportedly said four employees of Kundra’s company have agreed to become key witnesses in the alleged porn videos case against Kundra. The statement of the four witnesses is likely to be recorded in front of the magistrate.
Police also conducted a raid at Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty's Juhu bungalow on Friday and questioned the actress for about 2 hours. Kundra was taken to his Juhu residence when the raid was conducted. During the raid, it is reported that Shilpa had an argument with her husband. It is also reported that the actress broke down during the interrogation. Crime branch officials said Shetty was visibly shaken and upset while her statement was being recorded. Shetty reportedly said she was unaware of the exact nature of Hotshots, through which Kundra is accused of streaming pornographic content. Shilpa further said that it was UK-based Kernin Productions' head Pradeep Bakshi, brother-in-law of Kundra, who was involved with the app. She also claimed that the films available on Hotshot are not “pornography but erotica”.
