July 26 : Ranveer Singh and MS Dhoni played a friendly football match in Mumbai on Sunday for charity. The actor, who is a huge Dhoni fan, was in the same team with the cricketer. Saif Ali Khan’s elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, was also a part of the match. He played in the opposite team.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Ranveer shared a bunch of pictures from the playground. In one picture, the actor can be seen all smiles, posing with Dhoni for a memorable capture. In another priceless picture, the Gully Boy actor can be seen sitting on the floor, holding Dhoni’s leg, while the cricketer can be seen sitting on a bench, chatting with him. Ranveer called Dhoni his “big brother” and wrote “Bade bhai ke charnon mein hamesha (Always at the feet of my big brother).” In another picture shared by a Dhoni fan, Ranveer can be seen hugging the former captain of the Indian cricket team, while they celebrate a goal.

Ranveer had once revealed that he had worked as an assistant director on a commercial starring Dhoni despite being injured. “I was about 22 years old, working as an assistant director. I took up this particular job only because the ad film featured the one & only MS Dhoni.”
When Dhoni had announced his retirement from cricket, Ranveer had written in a post, “MSD is one of the greatest sportsmen to have ever lived. I’m lucky to have witnessed his playing career in my lifetime. A paragon of excellence. An icon of the sport. My hero forever. Thank you Mahi Bhai for bringing glory to our great nation and filling a billion hearts with pride.”
Meanwhile on the professional front, Ranveer will soon make his small screen debut with the game show The Big Picture. The show will test contestants’ visual memory. Produced by Banijay Asia and ITV Studios Global Entertainment BV, the show will also stream on Voot and Jio TV. Ranveer has also been roped in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani opposite his Gully Boy co-star Alia Bhatt. Ranjeev also has Kabir Khan's 83, Divyang Thakkar's Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, and Sooryavanshi (cameo) in the pipeline.
