July 28 : Mumbai Police Crime Branch has filed a new FIR in the pornography case that links businessman Raj Kundra to it. Kundra has been arrested on July 19 in relation to the case and has been in police custody since then. Interestingly, the fresh FIR mentions the producers of HotShots, the app owned by Raj Kundra’s company, as well as actor Gehana Vasisth but does not mention Raj Kundra.
According to reports, four producers of HotShots have been named in the FIR but not Raj Kundra. The new FIR was filed on the basis of a complaint by a Mumbai-based model. Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police along with 10 others, for allegedly producing pornographic films and streaming them on mobile apps.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday Raj Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Earlier, he was in police custody.
In her statement to the Mumbai police, the Mumbai-based model, on the basis of whose complaint the new FIR was filed, said that she was promised a “break” in a big budget Hindi film but instead made to act in adult movies. The Crime Branch had suggested the model to file an official complaint in this regard. While the FIR was filed in Malvani police station in Mumbai, it will now be transferred to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch for further investigation.
Meanwhile, actor Celina Jaitly has denied any connection with Raj Kundra's app HotShots. Her spokesperson told media that Celina was approached for Shilpa Shetty's app, which she did not join.
After Raj Kundra’s arrested, there were rumours that Celina was approached for a project for Kundra’s app HotShots. "Celina was approached for Shilpa Shetty’s app JL Streams, which is a decent influencers' app for professionals. She wasn't approached for HotShots; she even doesn't know what it is all about. Since Shilpa is a good friend of Celina and they share a warm and friendly rapport, she was invited to join," a news report quoted Celina’s spokesperson as saying.
