September 14 : Nushrratt Bharuccha's upcoming horror film, Chhorii, will release on Amazon Prime Video. Taking to social media, Nushrratt announced it today, and revealed that the film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video in November.
Sharing a motion poster of Chhorii on her Instagran handle, the actress wrote, "The new face of horror is coming to haunt us! #ChhoriiOnPrime, this November only on @primevideoin." The teaser gave a glimpse into the world of horror, which is quite nerve-racking.
Chhorii is a horror film directed by Vishai Furia and produced by Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis and Bhushan Kumar. The film is the remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi, which was released in 2017. The film stars Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role, alongside Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais and Saurabh Goyal. Chhorii went on floors in November last year, and was shot in Madhya Pradesh. The film was wrapped up within a month.
Abundantia Entertainment’s Psych, a vertical focused on the horror and paranormal genre, is associated with Chhorii. Abundantia has collaborated with the Los Angeles-based Crypt TV known for showcasing horror shows like The Look-See, The Birch, Sunny Family Cult, and The Thing in the Apartment.
Earlier, in an interview, Nushrratt had said that she found it difficult to crack the horror genre. "My stress is that we have taken the responsibility that too in a genre, which is difficult to crack. If it is a comedy, it is still easy to crack. The spectrum of finding anything funny is larger as you can laugh at something as simple as a knock knock joke also.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Nushrratt was last seen in the Netflix film Ajeeb Daastaans. The actress played the role of a house help in the film. Apart from Chhorii, Nushrratt will be seen in Hurdang along with Sunny Kaushal and Vijay Varma. The actress also has Ram Setu in her kitty, where she will be seen with Akshay Kumar and Jacquline Fernandez.
