September 15 : After announcing that she is playing the role of Goddess Sita in the period drama, The Incarnation Sita, Kangana Ranaut today shared a picture from her childhood on Instagram, and revealed to her fans that she had essayed the character of Sita in her school play.
Sharing a throwback photo on her Instagram stories, the Panga actress wrote, "I also played Sita as a child when I was 12 years old in a school. Ha ha..Sita Ramchandra Ki Jai. " The picture showed a 12-year-old Kangana, dressed as Sita in a red saree with garland in her hair, making a gesture with her hands as if blessing her followers. Another girl could be seen standing by her side and dressed as a saint.

On Tuesday, the makers of The Incarnation Sita announced that Kangana Ranaut has been brought on board to play the role of Goddess Sita in the period drama, The Incarnation Sita. Helmed by Alaukik Desai, and bankrolled by SS Studio, the story is written by veteran screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad. The Incarnation Sita will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Filmmaker Alaukik Desai said in a statement, “Universe does help those who surrender to it with belief. What was a mirage, is now clarity. A dream of a pious character never explored is now a reality. I am ecstatic to bring Kangana Ranaut on board as Sita. This pious journey will change the course of how we perceive our mythology. Meanwhile, Kangana was recently seen in Thalaivii along with actor Arvind Swami, who played the role of MGR. The actress essayed the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor J Jayalalitha, and has been appreciated for her performance. The actress has recently wrapped up Dhaakad, directed by Razneesh Ghai. She also has Tejas, the film on Indira Gandhi, and The Incarnation Sita in her kitty.
