September 23 : Elli AvrRam, who was seen in the 2020 film Malang, has been roped in for the film Ganapath. The actress joins Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff in the film, and will soon start shooting.
Helmed by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame, and bankrolled by Pooja Entertainment in association with Good Co., the mega-budget film has been slated for release on the Christmas week. The film has been planned for a theatrical release on December 23, 2022. The movie is backed by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, and Vikas Bahl. The film stars Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The actors will reunite after 7 years after their Bollywood debut together with the film Heropanti.
After Kriti joined the team, Nora Fatehi and Nupur Sanon’s names were speculated for the second female lead of the film. Finally, Elli AvrRam bagged the role. The actress will play a pivotal role in the film. Elli AvrRam is expected to join the team next month and kickstart the first schedule in the UK. Reports also state that Ganapath is set in the future.
Reportedly, Ganapath will be set in the 2030s, and like Tiger and Kriti, Elli will also have a different look in the film. Ganapath is a two-part franchise. The first part reportedly narrates 10 years of Ganapath’s life starting from 2030 to 2040. The makers have reportedly made changes in the script keeping in mind the post Covid world in the 2030s. After kickstarting shoot in October, the makers plan to wrap it by January next year.
Talking about the film earlier, Tiger had said in a statement that Ganapath is his career's most ambitious and challenging project. "This one truly is going to challenge me to an extreme level in terms of action as well the idea is to take the bar a lot higher for myself and Ganapath is just the right vehicle to express a new action for our audiences here."
Vikas Bahl, whose last directorial venture was Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30, said, "There are a few hurdles given the pandemic situation worldwide but we have a great team and there is immense excitement. Tiger keeps setting the benchmarks for us and Jackky is the adrenalin running in our system."
