September 27 : Chief Minister of Maharashtra has decided to re-open theatres and auditoriums from October and Bollywood is flooded with a mega line-up of release, but Akshay Kumar is the only star who has a maximum number of films coming out.
Akshay Kumar had Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Bachchan Pandey, and Ram Setu, lined up for release but due to pandemics most of his films either got pushed or delayed as a result of production issues.
Rohit Shetty helmed Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment of Cop Universe, it stars Akshay Kumar as Anti-Terrorism Squad chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi opposite Katrina Kaif. The film is slated for the 22nd October 2021 release.
Yash Raj Films epic historic drama Prithviraj is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. It pairs Manushi Chillar with Akshay Kumar for the first time. The film is slated for the 21st January 2022 release.
Nadiadwala Grandsons bankrolled Bachchan Pandey is directed by Farhad Samji, starring Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film will theatrically release on 4 March 2022.
Aanand L Rai’s family drama Raksha Bandhan revolving around the love, bonding, and attachment between brother-sister. The film will theatrically release on 11 August 2022.
Ram Setu is helmed by Abhishek Sharma, starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead roles. It is the first Indian co-production by Amazon Prime Video, the film schedule to theatrically release on 21 October 2022 coinciding with Diwali.
