January 01 : Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed 2022 with a bash in South Africa, where Team India is playing against the host nation in the test series. Sharing a picture on social media, Anushka showed her gratitude for 2021, which gave them the greatest happiness.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Anushka gave a glimpse of the New Year bash. In the picture, the actress can be seen in a black and white striped dress, while Virat wore a white tee. In front of them was placed a cake with 'Happy New Year 2022' flagged on it. Sharing the picture, Anushka wrote, "The year that got us the greatest happiness I've known. So, deepest gratitude 2021, thank you!"
Anushka and Virat welcomed their daughter Vamika in January 2021. Virat also had the reason to celebrate as India won over South Africa in the first Test in Centurion on Thursday.
Anushka also shared several videos from the party on her Instagram stories, wherein the hotel staff can be seen grooving to the music as they all cut a three-tier cake with a countdown to the New Year. A video also showed Anushka getting goofy with the party decor.

"Best way to spend my last 2021 evening," Anushka wrote as a caption to the video, along with heart emojis. Meanwhile, on the work front, Anushka will reportedly return to acting after a hiatus of more than three years. The actress has reportedly signed three films, which will go on floors this year. While two of these are theatrical films, the third one is a direct to digital film, which will mark the actress' debut on digital platform. Anushka was last seen in Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film had at bombed at the box office in 2018. Since then, the actress was busy producing interesting and successful projects on social media like the crime thriller series Paatal Lok, and the horror film Bulbbul on Netflix. She will next produce the drama series Mai for Netflix, which is about a middle-aged housewife fighting crime. Anushka will also produce Qala for Netflix.
