January 15 : Aditya Roy Kapur is all set to foray into the web entertainment industry with his forthcoming project The Night Manager. It is the Hindi remake of the Golden Globe-winning show. Aditya plays the character that was played by Tom Hiddleston in the original series. Reportedly, the series has gone on floor, and Aditya has started shooting for it.

The Night Manager is a thriller that feature a tensed cat and mouse chase between a covert agent and a secret arms dealer. Earlier, it was reported that Hrithik Roshan was roped in for the remake. Soon after reports emerged that Hrithik opted out of the project. The makers then reportedly brought Aditya Roy Kapur on board. The series marks Aditya’s debut in the OTT space. An official announcement of the shoot commencement has still not come.

The Night Manager was a British television series directed by Susanne Bier and starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood and Elizabeth Debicki. It was based on the 1993 novel of the same name by John le Carré and adapted to the present day by David Farr. The six-part series was broadcasted on BBC One in February 2016. Later it was broadcast in the United States in April 2016.

This year, several Bollywood stars will make their debut on the digital space. The Dhak Dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit will be seen in Netflix’s series, Finding Anamika. The thriller, produced by Karan Johar, promises to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.

Ajay Devgn will also foray into the digital world this year with the release of Rudra: The Edge of Darkness on Disney+ Hotstar. The actor plays a cop and is accompanied by Esha Deol. Reportedly, Ajay plays a dark and gritty role.

Shahid Kapoor has also jumped onto the OTT bandwagan, and will foray with the untitled project directed by Raj and DK. The duo has churned out the two extremely successful seasons of The Family Man.

Sonakshi Sinha will also make her web debut with the release of Fallen on Amazon Prime Video. Sonaksji recently took to Instagram and express her gratitude to director Reema Kagti, and producer Zoya Akhtar, for giving her the “memorable role of Anjali Bhaati” in the series.

Aparshakti Khurana is also set to make his OTT debut with Stardust this year. Vikramaditya Motwane’s web series is a fictitious depiction of the Indian film industry from 1947 to 1989 that focuses on the clash of two superstars.
