What is the importance of Vat Purnima 2019?

The Story behind Vat Savitri 2019 (Vat Savitri ki katha)
As per the Mahabharata, the king Asvapati and his wife Malavi wanted a child. Soon they were blessed with a girl named Savitri. She grew up and married Satyavan. She was a faithful wife and daughter in law. One day, her husband collapsed to death. Then, Yama, (God of death) came to take his soul. But she prayed and begged him to give her back her husband. But he refused and told her to ask any 3 wishes, except that.
She asked first for the good health of her Father in law, second the restoration of kingdom and last a hundred children for her and Satyavan. For the last one, he was forced to give Satyavan’s life back.
Rituals to be followed during the Vat Purnima Vrat 2019 festival
Basically, all married should keep a fast (Vrata) for three days. It is believed that Savitri did the same to save the life of her husband. The fast is believed to be kept from 13- 15 June each year.
