September 12 : Actress Mouni Roy will share screen space with Rajkummar Rao for the first time in the film Made in China. An excited Mouni Roy took to her Instagram handle and shared a motion poster of her next flick. From the video it seemed to be a comedy drama. Mouni captioned the video as “Iss Diwali, #IndiaKaJugaad hoga Soup-er Hit!
#MadeInChina Trailer out in one week!” The video went viral in a short span of time. The same video was also shared by Rajkummar and Boman Irani.
The motion poster with a tagline that read, ‘India Ka Jugaad’, featured Rajkummar Rao as the central character. The film also starred Mouni Roy, Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal and Gajraj Rao, who will add to the humour. The presence of Boman Irani and Paresh Rawal together already demonstrated that the film would be full of humour with Rajkummar Rao as the cherry on the cake.
Ever since the first look of Made in China was released, fans of Mouni and Rajkummar are eager to watch their onscreen chemistry. The film was earlier slated to be released on Independence Day but was shifted to be a Diwali release. Rajkummar had posted a picture on his Instagram handle and introduced himself and Mouni as Raghu and Rukmini.
The Made in China unit wrapped up the comedy drama by cutting a farewell cake and took group pictures. Mouni shared a photo on her twitter and wrote, “Happy happy to you Raghu @RajkummarRao. Always thankful for what I got to learn from u while filming MIC & always wish the best for everything that you choose to do in life. Happiness, success & all the birthday brights. P.S We shall pretend we are all cutting ur bday cake.” The team was shooting for one last song, Odhani Odhu, which got delayed.
Made in China, directed by Mikhil Musale, is the story of a Gujarati businessman portrayed by Rajkummar Rao. This Gujarati goes to China to expand his business. Mouni Roy plays Rajkummar's wife in the film.
