October 14 : Deepika Padukone turned heads once again at the Jio MAMI Film Festival 2019 in Mumbai yesterday. A fashion icon and a trendsetter, she took to her Instagram handle and shared a bunch of eye-catching pictures of the look she donned at the event.
The Padmavati actress never shied away in experimenting with her looks and took bold choices with her outfits as well as her hairdo and makeup. At the Jio MAMI event she opted for a bold printed dress which stood out in the crowd. The Ram Leela girl made a stylish appearance at the red carpet in 90s inspired retro fit-and-flare gown by the Dubai-based designer Marmar Halim. The dress was eye-catching which was doused in big black polka dots on a bright blue background. The gown featured a thigh-high slit.
As the blue and black dress was dramatic enough, the diva ditched accessories completely except a pair of square-shaped diamond studs. She also kept the makeup subtle and minimal. She paired her dress with a pair of stylish black strappy heels. She pulled her hair to the back and left her waves open.
At an interview at the Jio MAMI event, when Deepika was asked how Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh differed, the actress replied that while Ranbir Kapoor was spontaneous and doesn’t prepare much for his characters, her husband Ranveer Singh really gets into the character and does everything that was required for the role. The Chhapaak actress recently wrapped up shooting of Kabir Singh’s film 83 alongside Ranveer Singh.
The actress revealed that her upcoming film Chhapaak, which will hit the theatres on January 10, 2020, was the toughest role she played and was also the most emotionally taxing project. The film, helmed by Meghna Gulzar, is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agrawal.
