October 16 : One of the most religious festivals that make marriage a religious entity is the festival of Karva Chauth . It is also called Karwa Chauth in some places. Importance of the Karva Chauth Vrat
This Karwa Chauth fast needs a lot of patience and dedication and there are many things that women who fast should keep in mind. For women who take this fast for the first time, understand that a lot of pre- Karva Chauth preparations need to be taken.

The Perfect Sargi
Sargi is a meal that is eaten before the great fast. In the past, it was a meal prepared by the Mother in law for their daughter in law- as a token of appreciation and love for her.
Women need to wake up early, and enjoy a heavy meal prior to the fasting hours. This meal is called the Sargi. It should be a complete one, with almost no oil, or spices. The lady should enjoy wheat products like Roti, and then dry fruits, fresh fruits and lots of water, or fresh fruit juice.
Once this meal is eaten, then they spend about 13- 14 hours of fast and do not drink even a drop of water. This is why the fast is called Nirjala Fast.
Karwa Chauth preparations
Prior to the day, women need to make sure that they have the best saree or ethnic wear in hand. It is necessary that the women wear bright colored sarees- like red, orange, etc; adorn their hands with Mehendi designs and also red-colored bangles.
Married women should deck up to look like a newlywed woman and please her partner with her well- maintained looks and attire. Also, since this is a very long fast, she should stay hydrated from the previous day, so that she can successfully complete the fast the next day.
