November 08 : Sidharth Malhotra does everything to get into his character. A fitness freak, he has a strong appetite for workouts, weight training, functional regimes as well as sports. Whenever his characters demanded more hours of gyming, Sid happily followed all sessions.

The actor had to make a strong body for his upcoming film Marjaavaan. While he simply says that he took to old-school weight training and a good diet, we can understand what kind of hard work went into his efforts.

In an interview, Sidharth revealed that after shooting for 15 hours a day, he never got time to work out. So, he woke up very early in the morning to hit the gym. His workout included power movements like dead lifts, shoulder presses and of course, squats. He also took to Olympic movements that really helped him develop a fuller body that was required for the movie.

The Marjaavaan actor divided his sessions into pulling and pushing exercises to develop muscles faster. His gym trainer in fact helped him exercise all body parts in less time, as he had to rush for shootings.

Sidharth’s film Marjaavaan will hit the screens on November 15. Helmed by Milap Milan Zaveri, the action drama attempts a refreshing take on the classic intense love stories churned out by Bollywood. The film that opens on November 22 features Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh. Riteish plays an unconventional villain, who is vertically challenged.
