November 18 : The perfectionist Aamir Khan will be next seen in his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. The actor took to his Instagram handle and shared the first look of his character in the film. The film is the Bollywood version of the critically-acclaimed Hollywood film Forrest Gump. The film has, therefore, created a lot of buzz since its announcement.
The Secret Superstar actor shared his first look, in which he is seen as a Sardarji with turban, long beard and rounded moustache, with a mischievous look and smile. The actor captioned it as, “Sat Sri Akaal ji, myself Laal...Laal Singh Chaddha.”
The Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan will direct Laal Singh Chaddha based on Tom Hanks film. Aamir, who loved Forrest Gump as a script, prepared himself for the film for six months and lost about 20 kg to look slim.
Earlier, Aamir had posted a teaser of the film on his Instagram handle, which opened with a white feather floating against a clear blue sky. The netizens cleverly changed the colour of the blue sky into a grey smoggy sky and started commenting on the video in a different perspective on Twitter. They started talking about the current air pollution in Delhi. With the morphed video, the netizens raised concerns about the worsening air pollution in Delhi.
Laal Singh Chaddha also features Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead. Aamir and Kareena were last seen together in the film 3 Idiots. Written by Atul Kulkarni, Aamir will co-produce the film along with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Aamir Khan was last seen in the film Thugs of Hindustan in 2018, which flopped at the box office.
Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to release on Christmas 2020. Currently, Aamir and Kareena are shooting for the film in Chandigarh. Shooting will also take place in more than 100 locations across India. It is reported that Aamir may have roped in Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to make special appearances in the film.
