December 05 : The Sky is Pink actress Priyanka Chopra has not only inspired her fans in India but also people around the world. She has been able to touch the lives of so many children and that has left people around the world in awe of her social responsibilities. Yesterday, the actress was honored as she received the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award from the UNICEF Snowflake Ball 15th Annual function. Just as much, we love to share her special moments, we also loved her choice of outfit for the grand evening.
She captioned her gratitude-filled post with the following words, ‘Thank you @therealdvf for taking the time and effort to present this award to me. Coming from a woman who has a long, distinguished list of accomplishments… it means so much. Diane has this amazing ability to make everyone she meets feel empowered. Thank you for showering your power on me, yet again, last night. @unicef @unicefindia @unicefusa #UNICEFSnowFlake’
She posed for the cameras along with the well known American fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Priyanka received her award from Diane and that is why she went to Instagram to express how thankful she was.
The actress was humbled by this noble gesture, and her Insta post read as follows, ‘I am in awe of the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of the people who work for #UNICEF. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey. To serve as your Goodwill Ambassador is the privilege of my life.
Special thank you to Geetanjali Master, UNICEF India, Marissa Buckanoff, my UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Chief, Henrietta H. Fore, UNICEF Executive Director, Caryl Stern, UNICEF USA President and CEI, and Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director | #UNICEFSnowflake Thank you to my team for your constant support. @natashapal for being here. @danasupnick @anjula_acharia @loumtaylor @sonyaguardo’
That is her speech and you would be proud of her – the way she expressed her gratitude and also her idea of Philanthropy. She wore a bright crimson red one-shoulder styled gown from Salvatore Ferragamo. The gown had one long sleeve and the other side was artistically designed into a halter neck. She chose to wear stunning Bvlgari earrings and that illuminated her face beautifully.
Though her husband was not seen at the event, he made sure to wish her lady love that he was truly inspired by her deeds. She was accompanied by her mother Madhu Chopra. The award was given in lieu of all the works she has been contributing as the Goodwill Ambassador for over a decade. She has been traveling to developing nations and doing her bit to help bring up children in a better world.
