December 06 : Actor Vardhan Puri who made his debut with the movie 'Yeh Saali Ashiqui', says that, he focuses more on the script, rather than genre. He further added that, he believes to play only those characters which are more compelling and layered.
Vardhan Puri was interacting with the media on Thursday in Mumbai.
Vardhan's debut film 'Yeh Saali Ashiqui' is a psychological thriller and the actor has given his heart and soul for this movie. He visited the central jail in Agra and met some of the most dangerous murderers and killers. He spent some time with them to understand their psyche and started working on his mental condition to get into the character.
When asked the reason behind choosing this film and not any other genre, Vardhan commented, "I found the script of 'Yeh Saali Ashiqui' more interesting. I believe that there couldn't have been better start than this. For me the script is more important than genre. I love to play only those characters which are more compelling and layered and forces me to get into it."
Discussing more about the movie, Vardhan said, "I was not offered this role, it was by destiny I bacame a part of it. The script is co-written and developed by me. It was my director and producer who had faith in me that I can execute this role more precisely.
Being a debut film, the role was very challenging for me. I asked them to audition me and after the10th audition I decided to make a debut with the movie 'Yeh Saali Ashiqui'."
'Yeh Saali Ashiqui' is a psychological thriller which released on 29th November.
