South Pyongan: Shown is a captured image from a video clip aired by North Korea's state-run Korean Central TV Broadcasting Station on May 22, 2017. North Korean media reported earlier in the day that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un observed the successful launch of the ground-to-ground Pukguksong-2 missile the previous day and approved the deployment of the new intermediate-range ballistic missile for combat use. The missile, fired in Pukchang, South Pyongan Province, on May 21, is the same type that was launched Feb. 12. The model, also known as a KN-15 missile, is an upgraded version of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) and is launched using a solid fuel engine. (For Use Only in the Republic of Korea.
