ALGIERS, Dec. 13, 2019 - The percentage of votes of the five presidential candidates is shown during a press conference in Algiers, Algeria, Dec. 13, 2019. Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been elected the new president of Algeria, Head of the National Independent Election Authority Mohamed Chorfi announced Friday. Chorfi told a press conference in Algiers that Tebboune won a majority 58.15 percent of vote in the presidential election held on Thursday to become the 8th president of the North African nation since gaining independence from France in 1962.
